Our team believes the government can and should do better – and that’s why we exist. As the only major university-based institute focused on defense acquisition, NDBI features a research team that has over 150 combined years of corporate aerospace and defense expertise to go along with a faculty base that takes pride in having a wide breadth of business experience. 

This powerful combination in our people provides a set of skills that make possible our contribution to both the improving the acquisition process and the business acumen of the leaders that guide it. We understand the needs and motivations of the government as well as that of defense industry and we bring this unique perspective into all the work we do.

Current Research and Studies:

• Identify the transaction costs involved with contract development and execution 

•  Identify the root causes and drivers of extended acquisition and development time frames for IT projects that impedes adopting cutting edge technology

• Development of an acquisition simulation designed to expose new program managers and their teams to challenges in managing a typical defense acquisition program

• Creating a predictive Aerospace and Defense Industry Health Index
